Keevil Church of England Academy started initially as the Sunday school of St Leonard’s Church, but has been a separate school in its own building for over 150 years. The school celebrated this anniversary in May 2019. During this time it has grown to be the thriving four class primary school that we are today.
The academy serves the communities of Keevil, Steeple Ashton, Great Hinton and Bulkington as its catchment area, as well as attracting children from other villages and the East of Trowbridge.
We joined the Acorn Education Trust in July 2016, as a way to build on and embed our success. It has enabled us to share the best of what we do and learn from the good that other schools do.
We believe passionately that we all have something that we can excel at, that could be reading, swimming, drawing or working well with others. Our task is to ensure that every child feels success in something that they do in school, so that their self-confidence and esteem grows. Then we help them to take these skills and transfer them to areas of learning that they find a little more challenging.
We are a family school in every sense of the word. We ensure that every member of our community feels welcome and belongs. And you as parents, are key members of our family. We work in partnership with you to ensure the best outcomes for all children.
Our vision and ethos is based on the parable of the Good Samaritan and how through this we come to understand how someone reached out and gave all he could to someone to whom he could have turned his back. All we do is in this spirit of looking out for those around us. We are defined by “Always treat others as you would like to be treated” (Matthew 7:12). To understand how we achieve this in more depth please see Our Mission.
If you would like to learn more about us or would like to visit, please get in touch with us to arrange this. All the information you need is on the Contacts page.
We are going places – come and join us on our journey.
