June 22nd. West Wilts KS1 Dance Festival.
There they are! Our very own dancing superstars. Spring Class took part in the West Wilts KS1 Dance Festival on the huge stage at the Bath Forum and what an amazing job they did. It’s not easy being that small on such a big stage in front of so many people but once the nerves eased off the children were bouncing with pride at how they performed. Everyone is really proud of them and we hope they remember the experience with a smile and take their new confidence forward with them on to the next adventure.
Here is Spring Class enjoying their school trip to Langford Lakes this week, where they did some learning to support their Science curriculum. They explored different habitats and had a go at classifying small creatures. They were a credit to the school and we are very proud of them. A big thank you to Wiltshire Wildlife Trust as well as the adults who took them. Langford Lakes is a beautiful nature reserve which is free and open to the public.
Last week our Year 3,4,5 and 6 children went to the Wyvern theatre in Swindon to see Dragons and Mythical Beasts. It was an great show and the children seemed to really enjoy it. A big thank you to all our parent volunteers.
Today all the children in Key Stage One shared a book with a friend. Spring Class read their book to Winter and Winter Class read their book to Spring.
Today the whole school took part in the Emergency Awareness Programme run by Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Andrew led a session with each class teaching them basic emergency information covering CPR, the recovery position, calling 999, choking and of course showing us some cool photos of the helicopter. The children learnt valuable life saving skills which will help them if they ever find themselves in an emergency situation.
Well done to our Upper Key Stage Two teams who played in the Trowbridge Mixed Cricket Tournament on Friday 9th June. It wasn’t easy in the warm June sunshine but the boys all showed brilliant sportsmanship and made us very proud.
