Year 4 Residential

Year 4 have done us proud ! What resilience they showed on a 4.5 mile walk in the hills above Danywenallt through challenging weather conditions. The children enjoyed a three day residential trip to Wales with Ms Ritchens, Mrs Draper and Mrs Hermon.
Thursday 23rd March
Hands up if you got a little wet this afternoon?  The whole of KS2 championed through the downpour to play in an inter house Tag Rugby tournament. With lots of teaching from some great parents that coach at the local club alongside some cheering from some soggy staff, I think it’s safe to say everyone was ready to dry off. Thank you for creating this opportunity for our children.
Spring Class shared some learning with their families at their Celebration of Work.
Stay and Learn Term 4
WOW! Our school councillors have been busy sorting the books for tomorrow's World Book Day big swap.
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, it means that every child in the school will have to opportunity to bring home a 'new to them' book tomorrow at no extra cost to you.
Today Spring class had a music technology lesson today. They used Chrome Music Lab to create and manipulate sounds into short compositions. This is a free website so feel free to have a go at home. It's lots of fun! They also used bongo cat to play percussion instruments (and slightly annoying cat meows!)
Earlier this week (Tuesday 21st March) the whole school enjoyed a 3D sculpture workshop with a professional sculptor. KS2 children enjoyed crafting their own 3D bird before filling and weaving materials to decorate it. KS1 enjoyed working with a friend to decorate a pre made bird. What great fun!
On Wednesday 22nd March , the year 4's took part in the Trowbridge Music Festival at John of Gaunt School. They sang 2 collaborative songs with 11 other schools plus one song on their own which was 'Eye of the Tiger' They were very brave as they were a small group compared to the others!
World Book Day 2023
Wow what a great World Book Day 2023! All the children looked amazing in their costumes, a big well done to families behind the scenes for all the effort. Take a look at these snapshots of our busy day. We all thoroughly enjoyed welcoming Mike Brownlow into our school. He did a workshop with each class, inspiring them and entertaining them all day long. Lots of the children were also able to get a signed copy of his book after school.

Happy reading!
