May 2023

1st May 2023
Wednesday 23rd May- Sports Day 2023. A big well done to all the children for their amazing efforts in the races and fun activities. A big thank you to the staff for their organisation and planning as well as FOKs for providing the refreshments for parents and children.
Year 5 and 6 took a visit to Clarendon School today to further their Science learning. With the help of the staff and the resources available at Clarendon, the children were able to look in-depth at the heart circulatory system by dissecting it to look a little closer. What an amazing opportunity! Not for the faint hearted…
Friday 5th May
A coronation party lunch today, fit for a King!! It was all very exciting and colourful! Spring Class even made their own crowns for the occasion
The start of the Cornation celebrations have begun in school this week. The children have each produced a piece of artwork to celebrate King Charles lll as well as learning why this event is so historical and important to many.
Winter Class went on their first school trip this week with a visit to Studley Grange Butterfly Farm. Lots of excitement was seen from all the children for this big adventure with their school friends!
Friday 5th May
We’ve all had so much fun today celebrating the Coronation in style- all things red, white and blue and singing the National Anthem in Worship this morning!
The children were also given some wild flower seeds to take home to grow to commemorate the special event.
We think that’s it’s so important that every child has the opportunity to learn outside of the classroom. It’s time for Winter Class to come to Forest School! Supported by their Y6 buddies, we had fun in the sun… and mud this week, and the smiles say it all!
Summer Class have been busy making their Viking long houses in their DT topic. They’ve been using hacksaws to cut their wood safely whilst thinking about the structure and design they need to stick to.
