Welcome to Summer Class

Year Groups:  Year 3 and Year 4
Class Teacher Miss Jade Ashdown + Mrs Maria O'Brien
Teaching Assistant:  Mrs Kirsten Baxter & Mrs Clare Ritchens

Welcome to year 3/4 at Keevil School. Here you will find some of the exciting things we are up in class as well as our achievements and successes. There is also lots of information here to help us with our learning.

Summer Class had a fantastic trip to The Farm Cookery School in Bromham. They made Spaghetti Bolognaise  and Dutch Butter Cake with lots of fresh ingredients whilst learning some cooking skills!
Summer Class have been busy learning about Rocks & Soil during Term 3 and moving into Term 4 we will start to look at Fossils. We have a trip to the quarry planned and can't wait to find out more. In Geography, we have been focussing on the Netherlands. Our theme in RE this term is Forgiveness in the lead up to Easter.

PE

Our PE days are on Mondays (every other) and Wednesdays. The children will need to wear their PE kit to school on these days.

Forest School

We are very lucky to be able to offer regular Forest School sessions to all our classes at Keevil School. We have access to a field that is perfect to help the children connect and engage with the outdoors, and learn through active and exciting tasks and challenges such as den building, making a fire or tools, and identifying insects and birds. Y3/Y4 Forest School sessions are during T1 and T2 on Fridays.  Children will need to wear Forest School kit to school on these days, details of which will be sent out to you individually.

Reading & Book Change

The children are encouraged to read the books they choose at school regularly. It would be most helpful if you can take time to read with them every week (3 times a week minimum) and record your comments in their reading record. When they are familiar with the book they should change it for a new one. Our book change day is on Monday. We ask the children to do this independently.
