Well Being

On this page you will find ideas and resources for simple mindfulness activities and approaches you can take at home to help your whole family navigate this situation we are all currently in.  It is very understandable for children (and us) to be experiencing anxiety and heightened emotions at this time, and hopefully these activities may help you find a way through this.

A Message from Mrs Draper

Dear all,

I do hope you are all well and keeping busy.  What a very strange world we find ourselves in. Some  people are loving it and are coping very well.  However others are finding it emotionally and mentally tough. I know it’s easier said than done but we need to find ways to adjust and make life as best we can during these times. Who knows how long we’re going to be living in this new found life of ours. So let’s try take the positives from this no matter how small.

I just wanted you all to know that we are all in this together.

In my role as ELSA I want you to know that I am still available to you. You can reach me through my email  rd@keevil.wilts.sch.uk. I can email back or give you a call in school hours, I’m happy to do either. I have left a few things on here which I hope will give you some tools to help deal with anxiety and encourage relaxation.

They are quite self explanatory. If you do need help with any of it I can give you a ring and go through it with you, it’s not a problem. I’m also planning to do a simple relaxation, mindfulness video each week. One session per week for you to join in with. Some of the children will have already done some of it, so they will know what to do. Please in advance excuse my broad Wiltshire accent, not one of my favourite attributes!

In the meantime please be safe, stick to the rules the government have set out for us. Be mindful of the things that make us happy. Focus on these and not on what we haven’t got. Take one day at a time. We will all get through this together!

Lot’s of Draper hugs to you all.

Rachael
